Ken Welsh of Oxford Archaeology "Horcott Pit" investigating human settlement from Neolithic to Saxon periods, reporting on the recently completed investigations at Horcott Pit, Fairford.
An unusually large area was cleared of topsoil to reveal indications of prehistoric, Romano-British, Roman and Saxon sites, very close to each other, and including buildings and burials. This site may prove to be the largest and most complex archaeology in the Water Park.
Copies of the 2009-10 Programme will be available, and members & new members who have not paid subscriptions will be able to do so. Guests are also welcome at £3 p.p. More details on local posters or phone 01367 252457
